USFS Trails Strategy

The National Forests in NC have started a "Non-Motorized Trails Strategy" and will host several workshops in multiple locations around the State. More info can be found at The NFsNC Website.  “The intent of this initial workshop is to lay the foundation for this collaborative effort to identify long term needs for managing trails on the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests.” This website will continue to be updated and more opportunities for public input will continue over the next year.

The meetings are open to the public, and several BAC members attended the first meeting in Morganton on 1/9. We will continue to be involved in the process.  For a great writeup on the event, see the Rocky Knob Blog article HERE or the photo below.  A report on the meeting from 1/9 will be discussed at the BAC Annual Members Meeting on February 16.

If you would like any more details on this or want to provide any input on the trails in Pisgah, email info@booneareacyclists.com.
