The International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) recently announced Boone Area Cyclists (BAC) as a recipient of a 2011 IMBA/CLIF Bar Trail Preservation Grant for Rocky Knob Park.  IMBA and CLIF Bar awarded ten $500 cash grants to IMBA-affiliated chapters and clubs to fund projects that promote environmental education and inspire conservation in the mountain biking community. BAC will utilize the grant from IMBA and CLIF Bar to assist in the completion of Phase II trail construction at Rocky Knob by conducting a professionally-led trail features workshop for volunteers.  More information on the workshop will be released when a date is set.

The first 1.6 miles of trail at Rocky Knob Park opened on May 1st and has since received hundreds of visitors.  Community members have logged over 1000 volunteer work hours since construction began last summer.  Please visit the Rocky Knob Blog to stay up-to-date on the news at the Park and to find more information on volunteer opportunities.
