Over EIGHTY High Country Cyclists were treated to a fun and festive evening at the 1^st-Annual Boone Area Cyclists Holiday Party last night. Our hosts, Bistro Roca, treated everyone to a great atmosphere and provided amazing food. Chick-fil-A and Scoops Café also provided food, and drinks were provided by Boone Brewing Company and Peabody's.

As the crowd rolled in they were treated to a nice slideshow put together by BAC member Collin Waldron.  

BAC Board Members Bing Oliver and Eric Woolridge started the program by recognizing the Party Committee: Steve Lambert and JoLynn Mahoney.  Comments on some of the BAC Accomplishments in 2010 were provided, and updates on two specific projects, the South Fork Greenway Extension and Rocky Knob Park followed.

Over TWENTY door prizes were provided by event sponsors. Cycling Event Specialist Andrew Stackhouse announced the winners.  

Kristian Jackson, volunteer coordinator for BAC trail work, presented awards to three interns for their commitment to the Rocky Knob project: Chris Curtin, Andrew Mueller, and Michael Thomas.  The awards were locust plaques cut from the on-site building materials (used for bridges) at Rocky Knob. 

BAC Board member Paul Stahlschmidt wrapped up the evening with three BAC Volunteer Awards for 2010. These were awarded to Andrew Miller, for his leadership in forming the BAC Advocacy Committee; Alex Waterworth, for his outstanding volunteer service to the Rocky Knob trails; and Don Cox (AKA Bald Guy), for his involvement with BAC and his commitment to a philanthropy he founded, “Beans for Bikes.” These individuals were presented with a custom coat-hook made of recycled bike parts.  These awards were provided by local cyclist Dirk Brown and his company Blue Mountain Metalworks.
